Legal Intersections Research Centre (LIRC)


The Legal Intersections Research Centre is known for its cutting edge interdisciplinary research in law, social sciences and the humanities. The Centre has six research themes:

Asian Law Forum

The Asian Law Forum (ALF) is a multidisciplinary research group with expertise in law and policy in Asia. It brings together a diverse team of legal specialists in a wide array of legal issues in Asia, including comparative legal studies, commercial and investment law, human rights, marine and environmental law, Islamic and customary law, and dispute resolution. 

The ALF has three core areas of research strengths:

  • Business Law
  • Good Governance, Law Reform and Professional Practice
  • Policy, Religion and Society

ANCORS is a leading provider of research, education and training, and authoritative policy-related advice on ocean law and governance, maritime security and marine resources management. ANCORS maintains four central research programs, reflecting our priorities, areas of interest and expertise.
