LHA Academic Complaint Procedure
This procedure sets out the steps students in the Faculty of Law, Humanities and the Arts should take in attempting to resolve:
- request/s for review of mark or grade; and
- academic complaints.
An Academic Complaint is a complaint by a student concerning a decision, act or omission of a member of UOW staff or committee which affects the student's academic progress.
In the first instance, students should try to resolve their concern informally by approaching the person(s) directly involved to discuss the matter.
If the issue remains unresolved, students may lodge a Student Complaint Form with the Faculty of Law, Humanities and the Arts by following the process outlined in the Student Academic Complaints Policies:
- Coursework Student Academic Complaints Policy
- Higher Degree Research (HDR) Academic Complaints Policy
All formal Academic Complaint Forms should be submitted within ten (10) working days directly to LHA Central in Building 19. The form will then be forwarded to the relevant academic for review.
The relevant forms can be downloaded from the Student Complaints website.
